Generating KB Articles with Perplexity Comet Browser

I am a huge fan of using AI for productivity gains. Especially in the realm of product development. Since leaving Microsoft this spring and venturing back out on my own, I've really dug in and made some huge discoveries. Lately, I've started testing Perplexity's Comet browser and wanted to share a quick use case that I found quite remarkable.

My Use Case

We have been hard at work launching an entirely new admin experience for our platform. This means an entirely new stack with a new web app and interface. We needed to generate documentation in the form of knowledgebase articles and FAQs that we can share with our users and our support platform. Now, traditionally I could hire a technical writer to do all of this but that tales time and cost money. Like any situation these days I asked myself "how might AI help?".

I had recently started testing Perplexity's Comet browser and this seamed like a reasonable use case to try out. So I logged onto our admin portal and simple asked Perplexity to generate a KB article and FQ for the page. The exact prompt is below.

Analyzed the webpage and generate a knowledge base article that includes helpful how to info and an FAQ.

Now because the page is loaded directly in the Comet browser, Perplexity has access to every element on the page. It was able to read the html and gain an understanding of the page flow, pulling together a very nicely structured KB and FAQ that I can leverage with very little editing. This took about 45 second or less. Amazing!

Expanding the Use Case

Lets take this use case a bit further. Remember I said Comet is aware of eth structure of my app? Next I asked comet to crawl my site and generate the same documentation for each and every page. Bam! A full series of KBs and FAQs for my application in a few short minutes. This should get every product owner excited.

How to get Started

You can download comet here: Comet Browser: A personal AI assistant. However, if comet isn't an option, you can still copy and paste your page html into Perplexity or ChatGpt, or any other LLM for that matter and ask it to generate the same content for you. It may not be able to crawl your site but you can still hack together the results and save some time.
